Traffic has no Solution

Matías Fonte-Padilla states that a city should belong to the citizen and not to the private vehicles. We all live in a “car-society based” culture, suffering the worst quality of life and a dreadful economical model, which is above all an unsustainable one from the environmental point of view.

Unfortunately we are engaged to the private vehicles and we cannot conceive to enjoy life without them. The author of this book proposes to leave this idea behind because “Traffic has no solution”, regardless if we try to look upon for it.

No partial solutions for traffic will apply because vehicles occupy our streets, contaminate our planet and produce millions of casualties per year. But if we could achieve our goal of obtaining an efficient collective traffic, we would have a “Communicated city” instead of a “Packed and Polluted city”. We will then enjoy a much better quality of life never obtained before with our own private vehicles.

Some topics that come across in this book are: Real facts about private traffic and the squandering that comes along within it. Real reasons for car accidents and their consequences, driver’s psychology, the main problems that arise in the cities, current public transport and the necessary organisation required to ban private traffic from our life.

The current economical crisis based upon an industrial model of producing and selling vehicles is in a downfall. The destruction of thousands of jobs and the disappearance of the main enterprises, leads to a lifetime opportunity in order to transform the private vehicle industry.

This book helps out in acquiring the necessary mentality to produce all those human resources and useful material geared towards the development of a new economy based upon public transport.

About the Author

Biologist and Teacher, committed to sustainable development, environmental protection and transparency of public administrations and private companies in environmental management.
With multifaceted and varied work experience, I have worked both in government and private companies. Among my professions are the recreational diving instructor, commercial, computer, school director, foreman agricultural, technical environmental impact assessment, risk prevention, a biologist at Marine Reserve, quality technician, teacher of secondary education and vocational training public relations hotel guide cetaceans, Ensign Volunteer Reserve Army, and so on.
Currently I live in Santa Cruz de Tenerife, Canary Islands, Spain. I own my own company, an activity I combine with teaching, conferences, writing and other activities.
